Australia has a plastic problem. We’re doing something about it.
Each year, Australia consumes nearly 3.8 million tonnes of plastic — and only 12.6% of it gets recycled. At Sebel, we’re not just talking about change. We’re looking at our own products and taking responsibility for what happens to them at the end of their life.

That’s what we could divert from landfill annually if all Postura chairs were returned through RePlay. It starts with your school, your office, your organisation.
Three easy steps. Recycling your chairs is easier than you think.
Share a few details like quantity and colour. Don’t worry if you’re not sure – our team will help you figure it out.
Upgrading to new Sebel seating? We’ll swap out your old chairs on delivery. Just want to recycle responsibly? We can collect them for a small fee.
We’ll lock in a collection time, pick up your chairs and give them a second life.
→ We chip them down into plastic pellets Our in-house granulator breaks the chairs down into recyclable plastic pellets — ready to be remoulded.
→ They become new chairs Those pellets are moulded into brand new Sebel chairs. Old becomes new. The loop is closed.
Here’s what happens after we pick them up.
Once your chairs arrive at our factory, our in-house granulator gets to work — chipping them down into plastic pellets that are then moulded into brand new recycled chairs. No middlemen. No mystery. Start to finish, all under one roof.
Fill in the form below and our team will be in touch to get things moving. Whether you’re upgrading your fleet or just ready to recycle responsibly — we’d love to hear from you.
We’re rethinking every stage of our product’s life — from how it’s made to what happens when it’s retired. Because making great furniture and doing the right thing by the planet shouldn’t be mutually exclusive.
Here’s what we’re working on:
We’re proud of the progress. And honest that the journey’s ongoing.
RePlay is just one part of Sebel’s broader approach to responsible manufacturing and sustainable school furniture. From locally made products using recycled materials to low-waste production methods, we’re rethinking every stage of the product lifecycle.
