On average, New Zealand produces 380,000 tonnes of plastic waste annually, with households only recycling 18% of their recyclables on average.
Managing plastic waste is a very real problem. In New Zealand alone 380,000 tonnes of plastic waste is landfilled, with less than 12% of it being recycled. The reality is, we’re making very little use of the precious resources we extract, without feeding them back into the resource loop. So we decided to do something about it.

It started with a simple thought.
What if we could take some of the household plastic waste (Number 5 Polypropylene plastic) and turn it into something meaningful and long-lasting?
Something that will prevent plastic waste from entering the environment. Something that will be cherished by future generations.
